Design
The sporty, muscular exterior of the 2020 4Runner comes in eight adventurous colors, including Nautical Blue, Super White, Barcelona Red, and Army Green. Chrome accents in the door handles and front grille give off a brilliant shine and add a touch of luxury to this powerful machine.
Toyota Racing Development (TRD)-engineered alloy wheels, off-road tires, and a quarter-inch-thick aluminum skid plate give you safer clearance off-road and protect the mechanics up front.
The interior is open, spacious, and made from highly refined materials. The power tilt/slide moonroof gives every passenger a front-row view of the journey ahead. Available heated and ventilated front seats will keep you comfortable no matter what the weather holds. The 40/20/40 fold-flat second-row seats collapse to create up to 88.8 cu. ft. of cargo space so that you won’t have to leave any gear behind. A sliding rear cargo deck lets you set up camp or have easier access to your gear and can hold up to 440 lbs.
Performance
The 2020 4Runner is powered by a 4.0L V6 DOHC engine with Dual Independent Variable Valve Timing with intelligence (VVT-i). This engine produces 270 horsepower and 278 lb.-ft. of torque.
The 4Runner’s Available Multi-terrain Select and CRAWL control provide maximum control over especially challenging terrains on five low-speed settings. 4Runner TRD Off-Road has an electronically controlled locking rear differential, which powers both rear wheels equally — even if one wheel is off the ground — to maintain a steady pace over boulders or other obstacles.
Safety and Tech
An 8” high-resolution touchscreen comes with Apple CarPlay®️ and Android Auto™ integration, which means you won’t have to leave your favorite music or media at home. Amazon Alexa compatibility through the Toyota+Alexa app lets you control and access your media using your natural voice.
